Your week may feel ordinary to you. To another parent, it could be the story that makes them feel seen.
Parenthood is full of moments that rarely make it into the highlight reel: rushed mornings, feeding worries, tiny wins, funny things children say and nights that feel endless. The Parenthood Diary is a space for real parents to share an honest week of family life—anonymously, in your own words, with no need to make it polished.
Your name and identifying details will never be published.
What taking part looks like
- Share a little about your family. Add only the broad context you feel comfortable sharing; it helps readers understand your week.
- Write about your week in your own time. You can write a few lines or a fuller account—whatever works best for you.
- We shape it with you. If your diary is a fit, we’ll work with you to make it clear and publishable. We will never share identifying details and will check with you about any meaningful edits.
What makes a good diary?
Not a perfect week. Not perfect writing.
The diaries that stay with people are the honest ones: what you made for dinner, the argument you had, the thing that made you laugh, the part of parenting you did not expect or the little system that got everyone out of the door.
We welcome all kinds of families and all seasons of parenthood—from pregnancy and newborn life to school-age children, teenagers and everything in between.
You might write about
- Sleep, feeding, childcare, work or family routines
- Mental load, relationships, identity or finances
- A difficult moment, a tiny win or a day that surprised you
- The products, rituals or shortcuts helping you right now
A few practical details
- Diaries are published anonymously.
- We may use broad context, such as a general location or children’s ages, but never identifying details.
- Your contact details stay private.
- We cannot publish every diary, but we will contact you if yours is selected.
- A full diary is often around 1,500–3,000 words, but shorter notes are welcome too.
You do not need to be an expert writer or have a perfect family story. If you are living parenthood, your ordinary week is enough.
